Lunar Blossoms

Swopes was inspired to challenge the status quo and tackle the underrepresentation of women of color in the NFT industry. Her goal was ambitious - to create and sell an NFT collection that was not only innovative but inclusive. She teamed up with the acclaimed developer, @laurendorman, and selected creative residents, @alyssa.bae and @hnythrnb, following a stringent interview process. The team set out to design a unique curriculum to mentor artists and developers in creating their first NFT collections. As the project evolved, Swopes aimed to make this educational resource accessible to more creators and brands, thereby broadening its impact.

The inspiration to create Lunar Blossoms stemmed from Swopes' determination to address the underrepresentation of women of color in producing and selling NFT collections. To bring her ambitious idea to life, she collaborated with the renowned developer, @laurendorman, and underwent a rigorous interview process to select and work closely with the creative residents, @alyssa.bae and @hnythrnb.

The result was an innovative curriculum designed to guide artists and developers in creating their first NFT collections. As the project evolved, Swopes had plans to make the curriculum available to more creators and brands, expanding its impact.

This collection featured 7777 randomly generated NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, adding a unique touch to each piece.

Notably, 40% of the proceeds from Lunar Blossoms went directly into the Sunrise Fund. This fund aimed to support the team by facilitating continued workshopping and onboarding programs specifically tailored to foster growth and opportunity for underserved creators. Swopes was proud to be part of a larger movement that empowered individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing them with the skills and resources needed to build a better future for themselves and future generations.
